The Area

“The Bothy” is situated in Rousky, a small hamlet along the Owenreagh Valley, in the Sperrin Mountains, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is ideal for relaxed walking, fishing, cycling and a host of other outdoor pursuits. The Sperrin’s network of small streams and rivers along with a plentiful supply of Salmon and Trout make it ideal for the angler. After an active day relax in front of the open fire or come along to a lively traditional seisiún. After a leisurely day spent exploring the hills and valleys enjoy a barbeque and catch the stunning sunsets.

The area is well served with pubs, giving an opportunity to meet with locals and enjoy the craic and entertainment provided.

Shopping: There is a local shop within a mile of “The Bothy”. The village of Gortin with its small supermarkets is 4 miles away. A greater range of shops including several supermarkets are available in the local market towns.
